Our Love Story

We’ve met

Nick and Taryn were bitten by the theatre bug early in life, so it seemed fitting that they met performing in Summerstock Calgary’s production of Hairspray: the Musical. They both went on to graduate with BFA degrees in Musical Theatre from Missouri State University. As passionate artists, they promise that their wedding reception will be nothing short of 'theatrical'.

Latest Adventures

Taryn and Nick recently wrapped up an eight month tour, bringing 'The Three Little Pigs & B.B. Wolfe', a musical combining fairytale animals plus climate change, to elementary schools throughout Alberta. They also starred in, animated, edited and produced an online video series this past summer featuring their same beloved characters.

Combining their love of the outdoors and technology, Nick created a GPS scavenger hunt around Quarry Lake, with trivia questions about their past at each coordinate. Once all locations had been reached, the route mapping showed that their path spelled "Marry Me?" in huge virtual letters. Thankfully, even though Nick had made her walk for an hour in random directions, she still said "Yes!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you have a registry?
A: We are extremely lucky to have love, laughter and house full of furniture, so if you'd like to help us celebrate with a gift, we will be grateful for a donation towards our Italy honeymoon fund.

Q: Are you nuts? What about COVID restrictions?
A: Our guest's safety is our top priority in accordance with local health measures. After postponing from August 2021, we've decided that we will be getting married this year, no matter what! Depending on current health guidance in August, we may decide to move the reception outdoors. Above all, if you have concerns about travelling or large gatherings, we completely understand.

Q: Do I need to have a passport to attend from the States?
A: If you're flying into Canada, everyone in your party, including infants, must have their own passport. If you're crossing the border by land or sea, adults must have a passport, but children under 16 traveling with their parents may present an original copy of their birth certificate.
More information can be found here.

Q: Are kids allowed?
Yes! In fact, we'll have a bouncy castle in the studio next to the reception, so we can guarantee they won't be bored. Please RSVP for them.

Q: What's for dinner?
The reception will feature a buffet with beef brisket and tandoori chicken, as well as a selection of sides and salads. Please let us know if you would prefer a vegetarian option, and our caterer will have it prepared for you.

Q: What about dress code?
Semi-formal attire + your dancing shoes!

Q: Where should I park?
Evergreen Community Spaces has free above-ground and underground parking for ~100 cars. There is also free street parking on 8th Ave and across the street from the Spaces.
There is a 300 car pay lot located on the west side of Willowglen Business Park accessible from Center Ave.
